Incoherent Random Thoughts and Wear Your Face Mask

This is not so much a coherent story, but a bunch of random thoughts.

Here in Thailand, the government is beginning to re-open. They are still not allowing international travelers here unless they have a reason to be here, have a negative Covid test, and quarantine for 2 weeks.

At this point, Thailand has not had a local transmission in over 30 days. <knock wood>

My son's school has re-opened with lots of precautions. They are all supposed to wear face masks all the time. Let's be honest about this, they are not. They are kids and they take them off all the time.

Quarantine is somewhat over. We went swimming at the local pool and ate out at a local restaurant, but we are still trying to stay home as much as possible. Limited trips to the grocery store and no going to the mall to waste time.

After all that time confined to our home going swimming at the local pool felt like a week vacation at a luxury spa!

I'm American (that is not a brag) so I listen to lots of American news. The virus is raging out of control, people are refusing to wear simple face masks and crying like toddlers.

Because I'm listening to American news and over 120,000 of my fellow Americans have died, my fear of the virus is still very high, but I live in a place that is somewhat safe for the time being. I'm probably much more nervous than the average Thai person because of this.

I hope Thailand keeps up the good work they are doing to stop the spread of the virus.

It seems once the Black Lives Matter protests started, the media stopped covering the virus and people forgot all about it.

I also want to add that the protests are starting to work and some changes are slowly beginning to happen. There is a lot more work to do to change 100's of years of racism. It has been so ingrained to our culture that it's hard to see if it doesn't affect you.

I can't do much from Thailand, but I can vote!
