This is our second Christmas in South East Asia and as Christmas day draws closer and closer, I'm reflecting on how this year is different than last year.
This time last year, it felt like we had been in Myanmar for an eternity and could not wait for a chance to get out.
This year it feels like we just got here. Time flew by. We have plans for a short getaway over the Christmas break, but we don't feel like we are desperate.
This time last year I struggled to get into the Christmas spirit. I faked it for my son's sake. This year I'm loving it! So excited to be getting ready for the holidays!
This time last year I wondered, how on Earth was I going to make it until June?
This year, that thought hasn't even entered my mind!
I was able to find pumpkin puree and canned cranberry sauce at the grocery store. I'm not a huge fan of pumpkin pie, but it did help as we celebrated Thanksgiving in our new home.
No turkey. I did hear that one of the grocery stores had turkey, but it was really expensive, so we just opted for a roasted chicken, which works out well for the 3 of us.
I am feeling more and more confidant that our move here was a positive move and I'm hopeful for our future.
