I started writing this blog last year as my own personal therapy and I've had a lot to reflect on over the past year. The first part of 2019 was spent in Yangon, and I can say now, it was one of the most difficult times our family has had. My husband and I were plagued with depression, and I'm sure my son dealt with it too despite our efforts to keep him protected. A summer in my beloved Latvia and a move to Thailand has been a
very positive change and the second half of 2019 was much better. We're excited to stay here and build a life. My son is excelling in school. He was so excited to go back to school after the winter break!
My husband loves his job and, although not quite as excited to end winter break, was happy to return to work. There are many things to look forward to this year.
I'm working on the yearbook for this school and trying not to make any enemies along the way.
My mother in law is coming for a visit and we're anxious to see her and show her around.
There are many more Thai beaches we want to explore. Hopefully soon we will be able to buy a car. The one drawback to this city is the public transportation. It's not great. Most people get around on motor bikes, but for a family of 3, it's not really practical.
I'm trying to eat more Thai food. I quite like Thai food, but the rest of my family can't eat anything spicy, so we often stick to safe western foods.
This month I'll try and get my Thai driver's license. (Wish me luck!) It should be quite an experience and probably a very long day of waiting.
It was a busy December, but I'll try and post more in the future!
